Today, Wicked Sweet Cakes is shining a spotlight on a very special couple!  I am so excited to introduce Kimone Kidd and Giovanni Grajales!   A few months ago, Kimone was the winner in the Wicked Sweet Cakes Give-Away.  Since then we have had a tasting consultation and chatted about their cake.  I won’t share any wedding plan secrets, however, if I could use one word to describe their big day….EPIC!

Kimone and Giovanni are an amazing couple.  They have been together 13 years after meeting in high school.  Kimone noticed this cute, stylish guy sitting behind her in math class.  She immediately started having a secret crush.  Meanwhile, Giovanni noticed this new girl in school.  He was instantly attracted to Kimone and his first thought was that she would be his girl! When I asked Kimone what is the secret to a lasting relationship, she said,  “Our journey to this point wasn’t easy at all but one thing I can say that is definitely a secret to a lasting relationship is communication!! Also a few other key secrets are trust, compromise, love and just be you & have fun!”

Since noticing each other 13 years ago, they have moved to North Carolina from Connecticut.   They have 3 amazing kids!  Jayla is an 8 year old cutie that loves being a girl and having her hair and nails done.  She is the big sister to 2-year-old twins - Zuri and Zamir.  Zuri is a “take charge” kind of girl.  She is 19 minutes older than Zamir, so she thinks she is Zamir’s mom.  Zamir is the wild child.  He is full of energy and can take on the world!  Jayla, Zuri, and Zamir are all wonderfully sweet children who are thrilled about the wedding!

After building a life together, Giovanni proposed in a beautifully heartfelt way.  In 2016, at their baby shower while Kimone was pregnant with their twins, Giovanni proposed.  After Kimone opened all of their gifts, one small box without a tag remained. As she started ripping the wrapping paper off of the box, Tory Lanez’s Luv started to play. Inside the box were two little outfits. The first onesie read “Mommy will you” followed by the second outfit that read “marry our Daddy?” Kimone covered her face and burst into tears.  When she looked up, Giovanni  was on one knee asking her to be his wife!

So, now they are about to take another step in their journey.  Kimone and Giovanni will exchange vows on May 18th at Barclay Villa in Angier, NC.  I can’t wait to see what Jessica George Wedding and Events has planned!  Wicked Sweet Cakes is thrilled to be a part of Kimone and Giovanni’s day!

Check out our Wicked Sweet Cakes Wedding Cake Give-A-Way winner! This beautiful woman is Kimone Kidd. We are so excited to be working with her as she plans her wedding for May 18, 2019!

She was born in Georgetown, Grand Cayman and eventually moved to Connecticut where she met her future husband in high school. North Carolina became her home a little over a year ago because she wanted a change and to be closer to her family in the area. Kimone loves the versatility and diversity that North Carolina offers.

A busy mother of three absolutely gorgeous children, Kimone is a Lead Medical Assistant. In addition to spending time with her children, shopping, and listening to music, she is a business owner.  Check out Chanelle Collexion on Instagram and Facebook.  She is a talented wig maker and enjoys creating beautiful wigs for her clients.  For the little bit of time left in her day, she relaxes by watch TV.

Kimone is envisioning an elegant and traditional wedding that their family and friends can enjoy!  Her vision for her wedding at Barclay Villa in Angier, NC is stunning and will be an event to remember!  We are looking forward to helping her create her vision!

LET YOU SHINE THROUGH!

Welcome to the new Wicked Sweet Cakes! As some of you know, my name is Beth Williams, a wife and a mother of two living in Cary, NC. While my business used to incorporate all types of cakes and baked goods, I’ve decided to redirect my focus onto the biggest cake of them all… wedding cakes. Wedding cakes are the centerpiece of the reception. Not only do the guests and wedding party get to experience the delicious dessert, they also get to smell it, see it, and admire it. Which makes this desert one of the most memorable parts of your special day.

Wedding cakes are also a chance for you as a couple to express yourselves and your journey through the flexibility of design, flavor, and color. Of course, everyone is familiar with the traditional white wedding cake with off-white piping. This cake style is beautiful! It brings elegance and tradition and can be the perfect addition to the reception. However, a wedding cake that reflects the couple's personality is memorable.
The cake is a great time to break away from tradition.  Don't choose the cake you think you HAVE to have.  Choose the cake you want!  Let the cake show your hobbies, inside jokes, passions, differences.  It can be fun AND elegant.

Personality is one of the reasons I decided to focus on wedding cakes. Creating a wedding cake is a process that will require tastings, conversations, inspiration photos, etc. between us. This process gives me the chance to learn about your style as a couple and form a connection so that I can create your dream cake. And a dream cake really is a dream. It can be anything you want it to be.

So, if you are stressed about wedding planning and haven’t even thought about the cake, relax. We can tackle it together and make sure that your cake not only corresponds with your wedding plans, but also compliments you and your partner as you start this new journey together.

HAVE A WICKED SWEET DAY!
